EATING WELL
School lunches have changed recently, in line with current thoughts on the provision of food for children in school.
"Aunty Jan" has restructured the lunch menu, and some would say that Jamie Oliver himself needs to look out!!
Although our meals were relatively healthy before this, with no deep fried food ever on the menu, and "oven" chips only offered once a week, Jan has now introduced new ideas, such as:
- lamb kebabs with couscous and roasted vegetables
- pasta with meatballs, and
- chilli con carne with wholegrain rice and salsa.
Did the pupils appreciate the difference? The consensus of of opinion was that they are great. The one or two who "only like burger and chips" will hopefully be tempted in the near future!!

THANK YOU to all pupils for their donation of over £350 towards the Tsunami Appeal. The older girls organised a Black Thursday....attending school in casual but black clothing, which focussed our attention on the plight of so many other children at the start of this new year.
